FIRM...please do not call otherwise. An incredible 1969 VF Valiant in teal over
white – a stunning colour combination that has always turned heads. The VF 2
Door Hardtop was the most significant introduction to the range back in 69’
with a beautifully sleek design based very closely on the US Dodge Dart. At
nearly 17 feet long, this was the longest 2 door ever made in Australia. The
Hardtop used the same front-end treatment as the VF sedans, wagons and
utilities, however from the A-pillar rearward, the car was pure Dodge Dart. This
cars interior and paint are in fantastic condition with only a few touches
requiring and a few imperfections that need a a bit of TLC. Overall it’s 95%
incredible. Over the years it’s also been the most reliable cruiser, having
owned the car for over 7 years, it’s been an absolute joy. Being time-poor now
with heavy work and family commitments means this car has actually been laid up
in storage for the last two years and besides the flat-battery it turned over
and drove like new straight away! You’ll be happy to know I drove it straight
to it’s mechanic and it was overhauled in May to ensure it’s completely back
to perfect. This car drops no oil, runs perfectly, has 11 months fresh rego and
is ready to roll. Serviced in May w/ $2865.50 in receipts - the most I've
ever needed to spend on this car in 7+ years. It currently only runs on LPG
although set up to run on petrol – it hasn’t ever been done so I’ve never
‘tried’ it. Obviously for costs I have always favoured the LPG rig and never
questioned it. This is a cost-effective runner. Has a stereo and CD player in
glove box, awesome for long cruises down the coast, I've done the Hunter
Valley run and numerous South Coast trips and it never failed. I’m in
absolutely no rush to sell this piece of Australian auto history, so 100% firm
on price, no trades consider and honestly there’s no point seeing it if
you’re not serious about buying it. I could be the only person around who’s
partner is actually furious that I’m selling this, she wants to keep it! Like
me, the first person to see and drive this will buy it. It’s a fantastic
cruiser, a complete head-turner and uber-reliable vehicle. Although I love cars,
I’m not an enthusiast, so not so sharp on the ‘specs’. I bought it off an
old car collector down the coast of NSW who was a retired mechanic but I don’t
believe it’s all 100% stock. Regardless, there’s not many of them in this
condition on the road and you automatically stand out from the crowd. ***Updates
